Serengeti’s vast and iconic ecosystem is in northern Tanzania, East Africa. It stretches approximately 30,000 square kilometers (12,000 square miles) and encompasses the Serengeti National Park, multiple game reserves, and protected areas. Here’s some information about the Serengeti:

  1. Wildlife Migration: The park is renowned for hosting the annual Great Migration, considered one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife events. Millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles each year undertake a circular journey in search of fresh grazing. 

  2. The Big Five: Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinos, and Buffalos are known as the safari park’s big five and are commonly found in the park.
  3. Endless plains and beautiful landscape: The definition of its name is endless plains; this park contains the most appealing beautiful landscape in the world. 

Camps and Accommodation

Mawe Tented Camp and Gnu Migration Camps are a good combination for your safari experience.

Gnu Migration camp follows the herd of the great migration in the South from December to March and the North from June to November.

Mawe Camp is a permanent camp located on the central-Eastern Serengeti on the Soit-Le-Motony plains close to Namiri, which is well known as the resident home to famous cats like cheetahs, leopards, and lions. The camp faces the Ngarenanyuki River, the main attraction to animals during the heat peak hours of the day.

About FAQs

Serengeti is great for a visit throughout the year. Green season starts from Late March to late April and from Mid November to Middle of December, making this time great to see the newborn babies from variety of wild animals.
Dry season is great to witness the great migration, big cats in action and the brown savannah. 

Park fees to enter Serengeti National Park are below;
Valid from 1st July 2023-30th June 2024.
Park entrance fees: 70 USD per adult, 20 USD per child.


Special, Concession, and Seasonal campsite fees

July-Sept: 60 USD per adult and 10 USD per child.

A child below the age of 5 is free of charge.
Child between the ages of 5 – 15 is mentioned above.

October – June 50 USD per adult and 10 USD per child.

Park fees above are 18% VAT exclusive.
All fees and permits are valid for a period of 24hrs only.

Park entrance fees, concession fees, seasonal campsite fees, and relevant fees to enter Serengeti National Park are collected by Tanzania National Parks Authority TANAPA.

Serengeti is known for its number of big cats, varied birds species, and the great migration of Wildebeest and Zebras, providing excellent safari game experiences throughout the year. 
Serengeti offers a game drive safari with 4×4 land cruisers, walking safaris, and balloon safari experiences.
