Lake Manyara is a picturesque lake in northern Tanzania, within the Great Rift Valley, about two hours’ drive from Arusha town, 45 minutes from Baobab camp, and twenty minutes from our Karatu Tented Lodge.
A protected area that covers approximately 330 square kilometers (127 square miles) and offers diverse ecosystems and wildlife.
A unique blend of habitats, including the lake, dense groundwater forests, open grasslands, and acacia woodlands, characterize the park. It is home to various animals, including elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, tree-climbing lions, and a breeding site for many migratory birds.
Our Karatu Lodge is the closest lodge, which is 20 minutes away from the lodge.
Baobab Camp in Tarangire is about 45 minutes away.
Day trips excursion from both lodges is possible.
The park is known for its tree-climbing lions, migratory bird breeding area, underground water streams, large mammals, and a hot spring in the park.
Park entrance fees valid from 1st July 2023 to 30th June 2024;

Adults fees are 50 USD per person
Child between 5 – 15 yrs is 20 USD.
Below the age of 5 is Free of charge.
(15th March – 15th May):
Adults fees are 45 USD per person.
Child between 5 – 15 yrs is 20 USD
Below the age of 5 is Free of charge.
All park entrance fees are collected by Tanzania National Park Authority TANAPA and are exclusive of 18% VAT.
