Rhino Tracking in Moru: An Exclusive Serengeti Safari Experience

If you’re an adventurous traveler passionate about wildlife, one of the most thrilling experiences you can have in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park is Rhino tracking in Moru. This unique activity offers a rare opportunity to encounter the critically endangered Black Rhinoceros in its natural habitat while exploring the captivating Moru Kopjes region.

Here’s what you can expect from a Rhino tracking adventure in Moru:

  1. Expert Guides:
Rhino Tracking is conducted by the research and conservation team of the Tanzania National Parks, which guards and protects the well-being of the Black Rhinos in Serengeti. They have extensive knowledge of their habitats and the flora and fauna of the area. The rangers are part of a special unit set up by the park to look after and monitor these precious animals, day and night, in a protected area.
  2. Early Morning Departure:
Rhino tracking typically begins early in the morning when temperatures are more cooler, and the rhinos are more active. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on your adventure with your skilled ranger/guide.
  3. Hop on Rangers Tracking 4×4
Rangers out in the field will track down the rhinos and radio their location. Once we get the green light, we can hop in the 4×4 with a ranger and head out to see the rhinos. Cars are always parked at a respectful distance, and we keep our voices down while we take photos and observe the animals’ behavior. Rangers know the individual rhinos by sight and will be able to tell you all about their family history, as well as the species’ behavior and biology.
  4. Exclusive experience
Moru Kopjes Rhino Sighting area is closed for general traffic of Serengeti. This trip gives you the unique, guaranteed opportunity to respectfully see rhinos in the wild where not all visitors of Serengeti get the chance to.
  5. Photography:
For photography enthusiasts, tracking rhinos in Moru provides countless opportunities to capture stunning images of these powerful animals against the backdrop of Moru’s unique rock formations and sweeping savannas. Your guide will help you find the best vantage points for photography.
  6. Conservation Insights:
The funds collected during the activity are dedicated tog conservation efforts to restore the number of black Rhinos in the wild. During your Rhino tracking adventure, your guide will also educate you about the conservation efforts to protect this endangered animal. Learning about their challenges and the importance of preserving their habitat adds depth to your experience.
  7. Responsible Tourism:
