Detailed Itinerary
Day 1-: Welcome to Tanzania! Safari Magic Awaits!
- Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), your private guide will meet you.
- Transfer to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey.
- If time allows, explore the vibrant city of Arusha or visit the Cultural Heritage Centre.
- Overnight at Mawe’s Lodge’s selected lodge in Arusha.
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll receive a warm welcome before being transferred to your hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay. After a long journey, take time to relax and enjoy a restful night. If time allows, you can explore Arusha’s vibrant streets, offering a glimpse into Tanzanian life and culture.
As the gateway to some of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes, Arusha sits at the base of Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania. This lively town is a perfect stopover before or after your safari, with opportunities to visit local markets, coffee plantations, museums, and craft shops. Day 2-: Tarangire National Park
- After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.
- Enjoy a full-day game drive, exploring the Tarangire River, where wildlife gathers for water.

- Continue searching for big cats, giraffes, and diverse birdlife.
- Arrive at Mawe’s Baobab Camp, nestled inside the park.

Day 3-: Tarangire National Park
- Embark on an early morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, capturing the last glimpses of its diverse wildlife.
- Return to Baobab Camp for a hearty breakfast and check-out.
- Journey back to Karatu, with an optional stop at a local market or cultural center for a taste of Tanzanian culture.
- Settle in at Mawe’s Karatu Tented Lodge for a relaxing evening, preparing for the next leg of your adventure.
Savor a final breakfast while watching elephants, zebras, and wildebeest roam near the camp. Afterward, your guide will drive to Karatu, where you will spend the night.
Karatu Tented Lodge – Karatu – Set in the lush highlands of Karatu, this charming lodge offers a tranquil retreat between safari adventures. Surrounded by rolling hills and coffee farms, it provides a cozy atmosphere with warm hospitality, making it the perfect base for exploring Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara.
Day 4 -: Ngorongoro Crater
- After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a game drive en route.
- Stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites.
- Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife paradise and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

- In the afternoon, embark on another game drive along the Mara River, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather, braving crocodile-infested waters.
- Witness elephants, giraffes, and big cats roaming the vast savannah, and if you’re lucky, a dramatic hunt in progress.
- Optional: Experience a Balloon Safari for a breathtaking aerial view of the migration.
- End the day with dinner and overnight at Gnu Mara River Camp, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
December – March: Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)
- Start with an early morning game drive, exploring the Ndutu plains, where wildebeest calving season attracts predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.
- Return to Gnu Ndutu Camp for a delicious breakfast and time to relax.
- Enjoy a leisurely mid-morning walk or opt for a guided bush walk to learn about the Serengeti’s smaller wonders.

- Spot herds of wildebeest, zebras, and possibly a final predator encounter before heading to the airstrip.
- Transfer to Kogatende Airstrip (June–November) or Ndutu Airstrip (December–March) for your scenic flight to Arusha.
- Upon arrival in Arusha, connect to your international flight from Kilimanjaro Airport or continue your journey to Zanzibar for a beach extension.
Last Day in Serengeti & Departure.
