Mawe’s camp operates from late December to 31 March. Confirm the actual late-December opening date for your year before accepting a flight that arrives close to the start of the season. A ticket to the area does not itself reserve an open camp or a transfer.
Where Ndutu Airstrip is
Air Excel identifies Ndutu as a Ngorongoro Conservation Area destination. The area is part of the wider Serengeti ecosystem, but that does not make it identical to Serengeti National Park.
This distinction affects how you describe the stay and confirm the relevant park or conservation charges. Use the actual destination and camp in the proposal rather than treating every southern-plains arrival as a central Serengeti booking.

Flights to Ndutu Airstrip
Air Excel publishes services between Arusha and Ndutu. Its timetable shows different timings across the available services, so check the actual route for your date. A scheduled flight may have intermediate stops rather than match the duration of a direct charter.
The ticket should name the operator, departure point and Ndutu arrival. The joining information should also explain check-in and baggage requirements. Confirm those details before making a tight connection from another flight.
Mawe arranges flight-based safaris and ground transfers. The named airline operates the aircraft. Neither the flight booking nor this guide implies that Mawe owns Ndutu Airstrip or operates its own passenger flights.
Getting to Gnu Ndutu Camp
Gnu Ndutu Camp is a seasonal tented camp in the southern-plains area near Lake Ndutu. The reservations team should confirm its current site and pickup arrangements for your stay.
Do not use a transfer time published for another Ndutu property. Camp locations differ, and road conditions or wildlife stops can change the journey. Ask for the estimate that applies to Gnu Ndutu Camp and the date you are arriving.
Send the team your airline, flight reference, passenger names and arrival date. Agree how to identify the driver and who to contact if the flight changes. A pickup needs a confirmed arrangement even when the room reservation is already in place.
The quote should state whether the outward and return transfers are included. A full-board accommodation rate alone does not confirm those services or the guiding arrangement after you reach camp.
Camp season and the dates on your ticket
Gnu Ndutu Camp’s published season is late December to 31 March. The flight schedule and the camp’s operating period answer different questions. A service to Ndutu outside those dates does not make this particular Mawe camp available.
For dates near the opening or closing boundary, have the team confirm the nights before ticketing. A departure on the final day also needs an agreed airstrip transfer. The room, last meal, final activity and flight should form one workable sequence.

Can I use it when Gnu Ndutu Camp is closed?
A flight may serve a destination independently of one property’s season, but it would not establish a stay at a closed camp. Mawe needs to confirm an available accommodation and transfer plan for your dates before you book.
Does flying here guarantee calving sightings?
No. The flight gives you access to the area. The herds and animals determine what happens during the visit, and a particular sighting cannot form part of a guarantee. Gnu Ndutu Camp’s published season is late December to 31 March.
